If you live in Laguna Beach, be proud of your city and take notice of wonderful way to keep your city clean. Zero Trash is a community clean-up project near your Laguna Beach home, committed to ridding city streets of trash, reducing waste, supporting local businesses and taking personal responsibility for the environment. Zero Trash all began with Zero Trash Laguna, which all began on October 6th, 2007 when Laguna Beach resident Chip McDermott got tired of seeing his city streets littered with trash and decided to make a difference. Chip rallied together with local businesses to create what is now known as the 1st Saturday program
At 10am on the 1st Saturday of each month, local business owners provide volunteers with food, coffee, t-shirts and trash pickers, and then everyone pitches in to clean up the streets of Laguna Beach and other cities. This open house, community clean-up event lasts from 10 to noon, every 1st Saturday so come join the movement next month! For more information, including meeting locations, click here.
