57th Annual Corona del Mar Sandcastle Contest
When: Sunday, October 7th
Bring your team to the 57th Annual Sandcastle Contest and have a chance to win prizes and have a great day at the beach! This year’s theme is “Have a Ball!” This long-running event is presented by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce and attracts thousands of spectators and contest participants ranging from seasoned professionals to first-timers. Fifth Annual Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival
When: October 4th - 7th
At the fifth annual Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival, you’ll enjoy one-of-a-kind dinners by celebrity chefs and local masters, taste bites from 40 different top restaurants with their executive chefs, and sip from over 250 varieties of wines, spirits, and craft brews. VIP events, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, master sommelier tasting panels and interactive mixology courses will all be offered throughout the weekend festivities.

Taste of Laguna
When: Thursday, October 18th
Hosted by the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Taste of Laguna event features local restaurants and celebrates award-winning chefs at a fabulous open-air venue with music and fun under the stars. Join over 700 food-lovers for a night of tasty bites and delicious drinks from Laguna's finest restaurants. This is a night when restaurants showcase popular menu items, signature recipes, and specialty dishes, along with drink selections from your favorite local Laguna Beach spots including Laguna Beach Beer Company.

Roger’s Gardens Halloween Boutique, “Hocus Pocus”
When: every day through October 21st
Each year, Roger’s Gardens puts on several seasonal boutiques. One of the most anticipated of which is the Halloween Boutique, this year titled, “Hocus Pocus.”

According to their website, “Wander the corridors of a most magical school where witches and wizards learn their craft. Prospective students are invited to tour the castle. Explore the Headmaster’s Study, a room filled with curiosities and antiquities. Discover where novice witches and wizards study in the Potions classroom, be sure not to tamper with their mysterious experiments. Who knows what mythical creatures are lurking in the cabinets. Students wishing to learn about the magical properties of plants can visit the Greenhouse Conservatory where rare and unusual specimens are cultivated. Each of the many rooms in this castle is filled with enchanted objects and décor to fill your home with the spirit of Halloween.
