Do you love October as much as we do? While we don’t get the typical autumn colors here because of our Mediterranean climate, Laguna Beach is still an awesome place to spend the fall season. After all, nobody does Halloween quite like we do. If you’re in town and looking for a spooktacular time, check out one of these fun events.

Halloween Reading at Laguna Beach Books

On Sunday, October 30, take your kids to Laguna Beach Books for a reading from The Pinkaboos. It's a brand-new new adventure series focused on helping young girls get over their fears. The reading begins at 4 p.m. and will be performed by Laura and Jake Gosselin, a local husband-and-wife writing team. Your little monsters are encouraged to wear costumes, and they can enjoy Halloween treats and crafts.

Tales to be Told: An Evening of Eerie Delight

The Third Street Writers of Laguna Beach are offering an adults-only evening of dark and suspenseful stories and poems on October 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sawdust Festival Healy House. Comprised of aspiring and veteran writers, the Third Street Writers will share their work. Then they'll open the mic up to the audience to hear your scary tales! The event is free, refreshments will be served and costumes are encouraged.

Halloween at Roger’s Gardens

The annual Halloween boutique is now open at the fabulous Roger’s Gardens in nearby Corona del Mar. This event never disappoints! Step into a world of Grimm Tales featuring eerie and enchanted items from the worlds of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Snow White and more. And be sure to stop by on October 30 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. for the Children’s Halloween Festival. This family-friendly event will feature a costume parade, crafts and activities.

Sister’s Halloween Catechism

Get ready, Sister is back on October 17 and 24! She's ready to teach you a hysterical lesson or two with “Back to School Catechism: The Holy Ghost and Other Terrifying Tales” at the Laguna Beach Playhouse. You may even learn how to make your own Catholic appropriate Halloween costume.

Halloween Bash at The Deck

If you’re looking for an adult friendly activity on Halloween night, head over to The Deck on Laguna Beach. DJ Rosqo will be spinning all the best Halloween tunes and there are drink specials and no cover charge all night. Feeling creative? Come dressed in your best costume and enter the Halloween costume contest.

Trick-or-Treating on Oak and Brooks Streets

Do you want your kids to have the best trick-or-treating experience ever? Then you have to take them to Oak and Brooks Streets at least once. While it seems like the whole city is there, it’s well worth navigating the crowds to enjoy the amazing displays created by residents and see all the kids and adults dressed in costume. It’s an annual Laguna Beach tradition that can’t be missed!
