The Laguna Beach Film Society will host a special screening of Cloudburst near your Laguna Beach home on Thursday, August 16th. Touted as being hilarious, original, compelling, and heartwarming, Cloudburst has won many awards, including Best Film in the Vancouver International Film Festival. The screening will begin at 7 p.m. A pre-screening reception at 6 p.m. will be held at the Laguna Art Museum, at 307 Cliff Drive, for a chance to mingle and snack before the show. Cloudburst details the journey of a mature lesbian couple determined to be married. Obstacles must be overcome, from escaping a nursing home to exploring the trials of life, in this story which also involves a young hitchhiker. Death, love and life in general are the themes of this well-acclaimed, beautifully displayed film
Both events are free to Laguna Beach Film Society Members, although attendance for guests and non-members is $20. Tickets are available for $15 general admission or $10 for students with valid I.D. for film admission only, as well.
