Your chance to swim with an Olympian is coming up tomorrow, Saturday, September 1st! Laguna Beach officials (and the entire community) are honoring 2012 London Olympic Gold Medal winning swimmer Annika Dries in her Laguna Beach home town from 2 to 4 p.m. Ms. Dries will be presented with a City Council proclamation honoring her achievements by Mayor Jane Egly
Residents who live in Laguna Beach of all ages are encouraged to come dressed to swim! This amazing and supportive community event will be held at the High School and Community Pool and presents a fantastic way to inspire young swimmers you may know. Don't missout on the chance to meet Annika! The pool is located at 670 Park Avenue in Laguna Beach and admission will be free on Saturday
Annika played as Center for the USA women's water polo team, after being introduced to the sport through the City of Laguna Beach water polo classes and Laguna Beach High School. In 2009, Ms. Dries earned the title OC Register Player of the Year. While she currently plays for Stanford University women’s water polo team, Annika is excited to inspire her Laguna Beach home town, too!
