Hiking is a favorite pastime of many who live in Laguna Beach due to the abundance of natural lakes and wildlife in Laguna Canyon. There are actually three lakes, and two of the three, Bubbles Lake (named after a hippopotamus), and Barbara’s Lake (named after Barbara Stuart, a conservationist), are located in the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park which make for great hiking, close to your Laguna Beach home.
The Wilderness Park is located just north of the 73 Toll Road and east of Laguna Canyon Road. Parking at the James Dilley Preserve is $3. A suggested $2 donation is asked to participate in the Dilley Loop Hike on Tuesday, May 24th from 9 to 11 a.m. On Thursday, May 26th a Fitness Hike will also be offered from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Reservations are required for both guided hikes, so please call Laguna Coast Wilderness Park at 949.923.2235 to find out more and reserve your space.
