The Laguna Beach Art Museum, located near your Laguna Beach home at 307 Cliff Drive, will host a pre-showing wine and hors d’oeuvres reception for a screening of Elite Squad: The Enemy Within by the Laguna Beach Film Society on Thursday, March 15th at 6 p.m. This intense film of politics and danger in Rio de Janeiro will keep you on the edge of your seats and grateful you live in Laguna Beach. The movie is in Portugese with English subtitles and will start at 7 p.m. at South Coast Cinema at 162 S. Coast Highway. The showing is free to Laguna Beach Film Society Members, and $20 for guests and the public. On Sunday, March 18th, at 1 p.m., the Laguna Beach Art Museum will host a free event panel discussion for museum members and visitors with paid admission, entitled, “Rethinking the Birth of Art in Southern California” focusing on the Postwar Era of 1945-1980.
