Come for a hike and meet other nature-lovers who live in Laguna Beach. On Sunday, July 14th, join the Laguna Canyon Foundation at 8 a.m. Meet at the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Willow Canyon Staging Area at 20101 Laguna Canyon Road, south of the intersection with El Toro Road. Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers will lead the hike through Laurel and Willow Canyons. It's 3.8 miles long with a 600 foot elevation gain. You'll be able to enjoy different plant communities, including Coastal Sage Scrub and Oak Woodland. Questions about the ecosystems on the hike are welcome, but it's not going to be a guided nature walk. At the top of the hike, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the ocean. You'll learn a lot about the beautiful wild lands near Laguna Beach homes. Many people who live in Laguna Beach have never taken one of these great hikes. Don't miss out!
The hike will be over rocky and uneven ground. Be sure to wear good hiking books. Hikers should also bring plenty of water, a hat, and snacks. Ages 15 and up are welcome. Parking is $3 per vehicle. Donation for the hike is $2 a person. To sign up for the hike, click here. This is a great opportunity for people who live in Laguna Beach to explore the natural resources of the community and get to know like-minded people.
