If you would like to spend your Independence Day near your Laguna Beach home, there are a host of activities from which to choose.  To prepare for the day, the American Legion will celebrate the nation’s 235th birthday with a sing-along at 11 a.m. of the “Star Spangled Banner.” A historical reading of the Declaration of Independence, bell ringing service and a flag folding ceremony are also scheduled to follow.  Later that evening, at 9 p.m., the City of Laguna Beach will present a fireworks show from Heisler Park’s Monument Point.  If you live in Laguna Beach, please keep in mind that these events will result in much of the beach being closed that day and that city trolley service will end at 7 p.m., to accomodate the festivities.  For more information, please click here.
