Fireworks at Heisler Park on the Fourth of July is the thing to do when you live in Laguna Beach. The fireworks start at 9 p.m., when it's good and dark. Get ready for a display that will knock your socks off!! Go with your friends and family who live in Laguna Beach and bring blankets and chairs so you can sit comfortably. The fireworks are shot off from Monument Point and the best view is at Main Beach. Be sure to get there early so you can get a good view
Have a few snacks and drinks to share while you wait, but remember to leave the alcoholic drinks at home. If you can't bear to watch the fireworks without a beer or hip flask, you can pay $10 for a Community Services Department daily use permit. Get one at 515 Forest Avenue. Pyro Spectaculars is the company putting on the display. They'll shut down the park at 5 p.m. from the rock benches at Myrtle Street to the gazebo and Rockpile Beach chairs at Jasmine Street
Remember that it's illegal to set off fireworks at Laguna Beach homes. The fireworks at Heisler Park were cancelled for a while, due to budget cuts. There was also concern about the environmental impact of setting off fireworks over the ocean. A study was done showing that the ocean wasn't harmed by the fireworks, so now they're back in all their glory! There's no need for people who live in Laguna Beach to risk their fingers or police trouble by setting off fireworks at home. Plus, it's great to get together with the rest of the Laguna Beach community for an evening of fun and fireworks at the park!
