If you haven't disposed of your live holiday tree yet and live in Laguna Beach, you are in luck! Laguna Beach's Waste Management will collect and recycle holiday trees at no charge until January 13, 2012 on your normal collection day. Although you do not need to notify Waste Management in any way, trees four feet and taller need to be cut down so they are less that four feet and placed outside your Laguna Beach home with your regular trash receptacles

Please remove any decorations, tinsel, metal ornaments, and metal stands from the any trees so they can be composted properly. Although flocked trees will still be collected, keep in mind for next year that they cannot be composted because of their chemical content. You can still recycle your holiday tree after January 13th by cutting it up and placing the pieces in your green waste cart. For specific questions regarding yard waste, please contact the City of Laguna Beach by clicking here

As a reminder the City of Laguna Beach will be closed on Tuesday,January 2nd in observation of New Year's Day. Due to the holiday, trash collection will also be delayed by one day throughout Laguna Beach.
