We’re kicking off a new series on The Stanaland Group blog, where we spotlight a single neighborhood in Laguna Beach. We'll detail the types of luxury homes and amenities that are available and what makes each neighborhood unique and special. To start off, we’d like to invite you to explore the North Laguna neighborhood of Emerald Bay.
About Emerald Bay
Emerald Bay is an exclusive, guard-gated community consisting of approximately 500 homes. It is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Laguna Beach. Many of the architectural styles that have been influenced by the Pacific Ocean are represented in the estates of Emerald Bay, and nearly every home offers unparalleled views of the ocean and Catalina Island. This area perfectly captures what makes the California Riviera so charming and attractive.
Emerald Bay Amenities
Emerald Bay features many luxury amenities that set it apart from some of the other communities in Laguna Beach, including one of the only private beaches in Southern California. Residents of Emerald Bay can enjoy:
- A crescent-shaped, half-mile sandy beach with no public access
- Picnic tables and fire pits on the beach
- Beach volleyball
- A community pool and spa
- Six professional tennis courts
- Clubhouse with adjoining, expansive park
- Year-round scheduled activities such as exercise classes, summer camps, swimming programs and movie nights
- Anchorage for luxury yachts in the calm bay
- Dramatic sunsets
In addition, Emerald Bay's oceanfront location lets residents surf, paddle board, snorkel and enjoy all the benefits of living right on the water.
Homes in Emerald Bay
The homes in Emerald Bay are located on some of the most premier real estate in the city. Oceanfront, beachfront and ocean view properties characterize what’s available in this area, and most of the homes overlook the ocean from atop the hillside. Families are attracted to the neighborhood as a result of its safety, privacy and abundance of recreational opportunities right outside their front doors. Emerald Bay homes are priced starting in the low millions and can sell for upwards of $40 million.
Emerald Bay is located in North Laguna and is situated on both sides of the Pacific Coast Highway. Irvine Cove is located directly to the north, while Smithcliffs is just to the south. The neighborhood is just minutes from the boutiques and restaurants in downtown Laguna, but since it is not right in the center of town, traffic congestion is not a concern.
Emerald Bay's location allows residents to enjoy a private oasis but still stay close to some of the best local attractions. Excellent golf courses are nearby including Oak Creek, Pelican Hill and Shady Canyon. And Crystal Cove State Park, Main Beach and Heisler Park provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor pursuits.
Art lovers will enjoy being so close to the downtown area with all the galleries as well as the Laguna Art Museum. Be sure to take advantage of First Thursdays Art Walk. Galleries stay open late and the streets are festive with residents and visitors enjoying the art and ocean breezes. And, of course, every year all residents of Laguna Beach get the one-of-a-kind pleasure of visiting our world-renowned art festivals. The most noteworthy events include the Sawdust Festival, Art-A-Fair and Festival of Arts.
